Reporting a calculation error
We take errors seriously. A wrong number on a tax site can lead someone to plan their budget around the wrong take-home pay, so we fix confirmed mistakes as fast as we can, usually within a day.
To help us find the problem quickly, please include:
- The page and calculator you used.
- The exact figure you entered, and whether it was monthly or yearly.
- The tax year you selected.
- The result you got, and what you expected instead.
- Where your expected figure comes from, for example your salary slip, an FBR circular, or your tax adviser.
A screenshot helps too. You don't need to send your name or employer, just the numbers.
Suggesting a new calculator or guide
Many of our tools started as a reader's email. If there's a tax question you keep having to work out by hand, such as tax on rental income, property transfer, pension, or a specific allowance, tell us about it. We look at every suggestion and build the ones that would help the most people.
Advertising and partnerships
We work with brands that are relevant to our readers, such as banks, accounting firms, payroll software and financial education platforms. Ads appear in clearly marked spaces and never inside a calculator result. For advertising enquiries, email us with "Advertising" in the subject line.
Media and quoting our content
Journalists and bloggers are welcome to quote our figures and examples. Please link back to the page you're citing so readers can check the numbers and see when they were last updated.
What we can't help with
We can't give advice on your personal tax position, respond to FBR notices for you, or file your return. We also can't access your FBR, IRIS or bank records. For those, please contact FBR's helpline or a registered tax practitioner.
For your own safety, never send your CNIC number, IRIS password, PIN or bank details to us or anyone else by email. We will never ask for them.
Response times
We reply to most emails within two working days. If we miss your call, send a WhatsApp message or an email and we'll get back to you. Error reports get priority, so mark the subject "Calculation error" and we'll see it first.

Before you write: quick answers
A lot of the messages we get are answered somewhere on the site already. These links might save you waiting for a reply:
- "Why is my employer deducting more than your calculator?" See the salary calculator FAQ. Usually it's a bonus, a mid-year raise, or tax on other income.
- "What are this year's slabs?" They're all on the tax slabs page, with last year's for comparison.
- "How do I file my return?" Follow our step-by-step IRIS guide.
- "Am I a filer?" Check the Active Taxpayers List by sending ATL, a space and your CNIC number to 9966. More in our filer guide.
Contacting FBR directly
For anything about your own tax record, such as an IRIS login problem, a notice, a refund, or your NTN, FBR is the right place to go. Their helpline and regional tax offices can see your file. We can't. FBR's official website lists the current helpline numbers and the address of the tax office for your area.
Write to us in Urdu or English
Feel free to write in whichever language you're comfortable with. Roman Urdu is fine too. What matters is that we understand the problem.
Feedback on the website itself
Tell us if something is hard to use. Maybe a button is too small on your phone, a table doesn't scroll properly, or a page loads slowly on your connection. Most of our visitors use mobile phones, often on patchy data, so we work hard to keep pages light and fast. If you're seeing problems, tell us your phone model and browser and we'll look into it.
We also welcome ideas for making the guides clearer. If a paragraph confused you, it has probably confused other people too. Point us to it and we'll rewrite it.
